btw.. Freddie/Eric/anyone, do any of you guys know why Tre was out?
You can't tell much from playing a team like JB. A couple things that I did notice is that they seem to be in very good shape. It looks like 44 has dropped some pounds and firmed himself up. 7 (Counts the qb) looks like he's lost some "baby fat". He looks taller, leaner, and faster. #8(Robinson) looks more like he did 2 years ago, healthy and fast. 87 (Robinson) looks the most different. That is the best looking athlete I've seen in this area since JJ or JH. That kid looks like a cyborg. He's scary. I can see how he got the accolades he did coming out of that linemen camp. The two transfers from Pound look like they'll make solid contributions this year, especially 15.
I think myself and Coeburn Cane needed to go change our underwear after the hit that 87 put on that WR early in the game. That may have been the best hit I've seen in years.
"There he goes, one of Gods own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die"

Just a sprained ankle from what I was told, it was one of those things where he could have went (as you probably noticed seeing him walk around) but they figured there was no sense in risking it, and a good chance for some others to get some experience.
I kind of agree on 87, who would have known that a haircut could totally change the look of a kid
First time I saw him, I started calling him Batista, cause the hair cut, his head structure as well, that's exactly who he put me in mind of.
I definitely thought that a few of our players looked a step faster than previously. I was about to convince myself that it was just Battle being slow but then I remembered that we scrimmaged them last year, so it wasn't that completely.
I was generally happy that we seemed to have some 2nd team and even some 3rd team players who seemed to have some idea what they were doing out there.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
I was most pleased with our depth this is a year that we LOOK like we can witstand one or 2 Injurys.
I liked the fact that our passing game looked as good as I ever remember seeing it in the last 10 years (Grain of salt being that it was just a scrimage)
I liked that in addation to being faster we seem to be hitting hatder as well (not just tackeling people but punishing them) the hit 87 put on the Battle Wideout underlined that point well.
I liked that we did not play down to Battles level but played up to where we should be (Battle was never in this scrimage even when the heavy subbing started)
I DID NOT Like that we probably had 4 X the number of Penaltys as Battle did offencave yards....We cannot play that wrecklesswithout it comming back to bite us in the butt
I DID NOT Like that Battle was able to get 2 20 yard passes on us....sure if you give a team enough shots at something they will eventualy make something happen but I am haveing a tough time finding anything else to complain about
As far as 87 goes he has Grownup he has always been a tall lanky kid but in the last 6 months he has really started to fill out He an Hull will be as tough a pair of DEs as there are in SWVA
